Publications

Oscillations curates interventions, publications, and open “issues” across traditions, disciplines, and worlds. Issues are not serial editions but constellations of thought that remain open for re-engagement, and a single work may belong to more than one. This page is a growing archive: we begin with our interventions, and will expand to include curated issues and a full publications library.

Interventions

Oscillations publishes interventions: statements, position pieces, and manifestos that mark key moments in our research and commitments. They are authored individually or jointly by members of the platform, and open new pathways for thinking and acting.

Issues

Open thematic constellations. Each issue remains live, allowing works to reappear across multiple conversations.

  • Abrahamic Matrix
Explores Judaism, Christianity, and Islam as overlapping civilizational grammars, tracing their crossings, fractures, and possibilities of renewal.
  • Formal Experiments
Non-standard approaches to anthropology, philosophy, and science — speculative forms of writing, method, and thought.
  • From the Field
Dispatches and reflections from Amazonia, Melanesia, and other sites where peoples renew their covenants and identities, composing worlds that are at once local and planetary.
  • Human Hologram: Transformations and In/Variants
“The human hologram is the objective redress of the subjective or self-subjecting condition, our place in the universe as a function of the universe’s place in us.” (Wagner 2001: 12)
  • In-dividuals and Multiplicities
This issue treats the question of personhood and people, and what a thought that starts from the person looks like – individuals or dividuals, bodies and souls or beyond – the who of the human rather than its “what.”
  • Prayers
A place to think from the God.
  • Rebuilding the World Tree
The Sky is falling and there are too few who would recognize the importance of holding it up (Kopenawa & Albert 2013). We have inherited a way of thinking and doing that has been disastrous for the human. Many of the pressing problems of our time, including climate change and global inequality, are a direct consequence of the cosmology of the Moderns. We need to rebuild the World Tree, to learn again to live well between Sky and Earth.
  • Sky-Earth Systems Science
A planetary science of reciprocity and renewal, moving beyond the Modern Nature/Culture divide by thinking-with Ancients across the Sky–Earth System, at both the center and margins of the World.
